If you have been following ABT, you will notice that we let the cat out of the bag a few months ago when we posted the “Patriot Torqx M28 256 GB SSD Unboxing and Performance Preview” article. In there we gave you a look at the Solid State Disk (SSD) we...
Industry leading 10 year warranty ; 128 MB of cache ; Fast speeds ; TRIM support
Price ($745 at the time of the writing of this article)
Money no object, if I were to recommend one upgrade in any system, it will most definitely be a SSD. Offering nearly double the performance over the fastest hard drive I have ever tested speaks volumes about the performance that a SSD delivers. Even a...

Normally, I wouldn't do this. But I have been so impressed with my first Solid State Disk (SSD), that I wanted to show it to you what a SSD can do if you are on the fence about buying a SSD. Although the prices on SSDs are very high at the moment,...

I think it would be a great hard drive if it actually had the 1 million hour life.
The drive was wonderful and extremely fast. Was, being the key word
I left this SSD unplugged in my PC for a good while and when I lost two hard drives to a very aggressive virus I used the drive as it was originally intended for my OS. Unfortunately it was not even 3 days of use that I came across some issues. My SSD...

Swapped it under warranty for another Torqx M28. Maybe the new firmware will enhance reliability. Would have purchased an Intel X25-M 80GB on sale from Newegg if I could have gotten my money back!
See my original review from 11/21/09. Very impressive performance (for 6 months)
Died after 6 months in service

People have said that TRIM is not supported (including an either misinformed CSR - or the post was from several months ago). The most recent firmware for these drives DOES support TRIM. However, if you're not running Windows 7 - then it doesn't matter...
I was a little worried about this, but the drive was on sale locally (sorry newegg... but you'll be getting more of my money soon too). Read the reviews here and was even more worried... luckily either the negative reviews were old/outdated, or were...
As with all SSD's - the price (but then again early adopters always pay a premium). I paid about $70 less than the current price at a local retailer's sale - but even at $275 it's not THAT overpriced... every time I think some new video card or drive...

My raid with 2 1 gig western green with 64 cache is faster than this drive.
none
No trim, actual speed slower than my HHD raid, no software utilities, no firmware utilities
Kundenmeinung (newegg.com)
Not quite what I thought it was. This drive has the Samsung SSD controller, and not Indilinx like the regular Patriot Torqx drives. Still, it's fast and so far has worked great.
Nice and fast ; cheap (for an SSD) ; reliable ; I love the 10-year warranty
No Windows 7 TRIM support ; No firmware updates

When you hook this drive up make sure to use a controller that can support its speed. I originally hooked it to an on-board Silicon Image 3132 controller but it was maxing out around 120MB/s. I moved it to the one of my Intel Controllers and its...
Works as expected. Just over 200MB/s read speed, about 120MB/s write. Silent, low power usage, etc (as all SSDs are)
None I see. I do not consider the price a con considering the speed, size and other options
Kundenmeinung (newegg.com)
People - stop complaining about the price - if you can't afford it - stick with Regular Spinners.
How fast is fast? I don't care how fast hard drives spin. I am a new man. I will fight and embrace all the issues of SSD just to appreciate how fast SSD's are
none so far
