Another solid offering from Topfield that does all the basic functions very well, although it lacks some advanced connectivity options.

Disaster been serviced under warranty failed again, new unit supplied 6mths ago now #@$** stuffed again.. into the trash with it this time

Twin tuner, easy record from EPG, excellent tuner performance, fairly intuitive remote use after a few minutes familiarization.

Poor manual, so far two units have given trouble - first replaced under warranty and it took weeks, the second and current unit is exhibiting the zero MB file problem and I can't upgrade the firmware because I don't have and can't get locally a serial...

It's cheap - you can pick it up for around $150 on eBay.

Image quality isn't great - much poorer than Topfield's cheapo 4000 box. The remote isn't difficult to learn, but it's hardly intuitive either. No USB means it can be tricky to update the firmware (you need a PC with a serial port).
