Tamron 5580

This has revolutionised my photography and has proved the ideal lens for capturing my summer activities. Highly recommended for anyone looking to expand their camera bag from the basic twin lens kit that most people start with.

It zooms the opposite way to my Canon lens which has taken some getting used to!

Nothing that I have found to date. Would recommend it.

To be able to take close ups and longer range photos without switching lense was really convenient. My album from a recent safari trip so balanced as a result.

The auto focus is not a quick as a Canon and sometimes it really struggles, for example lower light and sometimes with target selection.

Compact. The zoom lock is great; wish my canon lense had this.

I love that the lens zooms in so much closer than the 18-55 Canon lens. It's compact enough to fit into my holster bag so is easy to carry round.

Sometimes has difficulty deciding on focus by 'hunting' but when I'm happy with the focus, I switch to manual and all is well.

after about 75 shots i had a problem with the lens on my canon took it back to the shop and they repaired it for me seems ok now but it needs a full run to test

Great travelling lens, can get everything I need with this and a 10-20mm wide angle. Feels well balanced when attached to the 20D

Slight loss of edge sharpness at the wide end. Some barrel distortion at the wide end too.

Great value for money & zoom range. No need to swap lenses.
