An excellent lens to replace the standard Sony kit lens. Great build quality (equal at least to the Nikon or Canon equivalents) great lens quality and nice feel. The only possible niggle is the manual focus but maybe that\'s a common issue these days....

Useful zoom range. If you only have one lens then this is a good all rounder. Image quality at the wide angle end is excellent, but only average at telephoto.

I purchased this lens as a replacement for the same model which had an unfortunate encounter with the river Mersey from which it emerged irrepairable. I was a little disappointed that water penetrated so easily. The Alpha 700 to which it was attached...
