This lens, as all the reports, majors in its image quality and in the fact that it is well built. And that Sigma supplies a lens hood (ok its plastic, but thats fine by me), only adds, with some other manufacturers the lens hood is an added costed...

Negatives? The lack of an image stabiliser is the biggest drawback, many times (chasing that bug) I have ruined the shot cos I cant keep still enough, and the light is lacking. But to be fair the addition of an IS system would make the lens more...

Not an HSM lens (trust me, this is the only thing that I can think of as a negative - I love this lens).

Amazing macro photo lens equalling the photo quality of the genuine Nikon equivalent at half the price!

Auto focus motor noisy and ends up hunting continuously on macro subjects, but not a problem as most people who are into macro photography will know that most of the time you use manual focus anyway!
