Battlestar Galactica: Complete Box Set (7 Discs) (1978)

This, in my opinion, is head and shoulders above the new one. This is mostly becouse it is not dominated by CGI.

Ok - in todays world not as good as the new series, but for when this was made it was leaps ahead of Star-Wars !! - now that says alot i know, and i am sure to be argued with on that statement, but it was and still is the greatest Sci-Fi ever.. Total...

Many people may say that this was a copy cat rip off to Star Wars. I think not. Its quality scifi with good special effects that still hold up today. It was a shame it ended to soon. A great cast and some good stories.

Can you sit an 8 year old kid in front of the TV to watch the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica? No. Can you sit them down in front of the CLASSIC show? Absolutely, and whats more they will enjoy it too.
