Samsung ML-1740

The petite Samsung ML-1740 has the right price for a home-office laser printer, as long as you plan to pair it with only one computer.

Inexpensive; good text-printing quality; sleek and small; easy to set up.

On the slow side; comes with a limited toner cartridge; lacks Mac compatibility or an option to expand memory.

Samsung's affordable ML-1740 home-office laser printer is cheap enough for an impulse buy but too limited for serious office work.

Samsung's Simple, Inexpensive Laser

Basic monochrome laser printer a solid choice for text-heavy small offices.

Samsung ML-1740

With a 17-ppm and 600-dpi engine, the Samsung ML-1740 offers much more than you'd expect from a low-price laser.

Lots of bang for the buck. The 17-ppm, 600-dpi engine yields both fast performance and better-than-usual photo quality for the price.

Text and graphics quality are somewhat below par for a 600-dpi monochrome laser printer.

Samsung ML1740

At first glance, you might appreciate the Samsung ML-1740's ($150 street) sleek design and shiny white plastic exterior. But you'd never guess from the low price and small footprint—just 14.2 by 14.6 inches—that inside the box resides a 17-ppm, 600-dpi...

Text and graphics quality are somewhat below par for a 600-dpi monochrome laser printer

The Samsung ML-1740 is a lot of printer for the price. The 17-page-per-minute (ppm) engine cranks out pages at high speed and at 600 dots per inch—a higher resolution than most personal lasers. Output quality could be better, but it's among the best...

Samsung ML-1740

The Samsung ML-1740 black-and-white laser printer will satisfy a tight budget in a small office or at home, but you should opt for a more sophisticated machine if you need a corporate workhorse.

HardwareCentral - Samsung ML-1740 Review.

Aside from the power switch at the right rear, the only user control is one button on top which serves to cancel a print job, continue a manual-feed job, or toggle the toner-saver mode that promises to stretch cartridge life by up to 40 percent by...

Great, always works, not out of toner/ink every time I go to use it

I rarely need color and I am not a person that prints a lot. I may go weeks without printing and then print a bunch. I was spending enormous amounts on printer cartridges as my nozzles were always clogged when I went to use my printer. Basically, I was...

Simple, supported in windows 10

"A good printer for home"

Featuring only one consumable, since the toner and drum are together in one unit, this printer is extremelt good for low level printing - such as documents etc. Its don't make HEAPS of noise like most printers, it's quite fast and the quality is as...

"Good overall Cheap printer"

Only drawback for me is the light print. I don't see any way to make the text darker.
