This DVR standalone is a great value. It seems to do all that it's advertised to do. Please note that the unit only records in 240 lines - which is the standard for this generation of DVR. If you are looking to record at 480 or higher, don't bother....

I am very happy with all the features and quality of product (in general)except it doesn't have audio alarm or an output to trigger an alarm in case of motion detection.I haven't tested with 8 cams but with 4 cams worked very good.
