I'VE HAD THIS UNIT ALMOST A YEAR, WHILE I DON'T USE IT FREQUENTLY, IT WORKS FINE IN BOTH MODES. IT GETS HOT TO THE TOUCH IN CONVECTION SETTING, BE CAREFUL.
