For the Domestic Barista !

Having upgraded from a twin thermoblock machine, I can verify that the Zaffiro is a quantum leap away from most home machines in terms of its' build quality and capacities - both espresso delivery and steaming. It has taken me about 4 weeks to learn...

Powerful steaming capacity. Consistent espresso shots. Superb build quality. An adornment to any kitchen.

Water tank could be slightly larger.

Boxy but beautiful, scads of chrome and stainless, solid, professional components... for the price I paid you'd be nuts not to jump on it. Nuff said

I have been using and enjoying my Livia 90 for the past two and one half years but since I almost never make milk based drinks the heat exchanger (with it's instant steam ability) was not important to me. I decided to purchase the Zaffiro because I...

Makes one hell of a good cup of espresso! The large, dedicated boiler and E-61 group are simply the best for temperature stability throughout the pull

A bit boxy and austere when you first open it up for a look but it takes only a moment for this feeling to pass as you gaze upon the beautiful and functional E-61 group. I thought my wife would not like it but her eyes glazed over when she saw it and...

The Zaffiro is a pure espresso machine that makes fine milk-coffee drinks and does so with the sleek lines of a 1966 Mercedes Sports Coupe.

The Zaffiro hums. And hums while looking rather sexy. The espresso is so much better than my La Pavoni that I was surprised, because I was quite pleased with my La Pavoni. Everything about the Zaffiro seems made to guarantee multiple espressos at a...

The best aspect of the Zaffiro is its consistently high quality espresso brewed at a consistent temperature. Further, the aesthetic beauty of the workmanship is adaptable to any kitchen decor. Also, though the Zaffiro has developed a reputation for...

The most negative point for me is the time it takes the waterand the grouphead to heat up. I need to move quickly in the morning, so the first thing I have to do when I get up is turn on the Zaffiro. I also find it irritating to put my espresso cups...

Ultimate single-boiler machine.

Once tuned for right pressure (in coffee holder) and right temperature, it produces perfect coffee and espresso's.

Probably the best prosumer coffee machine around below $1000

Took some time to get used to

Might be the best straight espresso machine on the home market.

After 2-1/2 happy years with my Rancilio Silvia (and 10 frustrating years with a Krups steam toy and a pump machine), I decided I deserved a break from temperature surfing. I also wanted a bit more consistency in my espressos. Unlike many others who...

This machine produces consistent espresso of near-commercial quality. No temperature surfing is needed (up or down!), and it's beautiful to look at

That beautiful E-61 grouphead is very hot, very exposed and very attractive to curious little fingers. Like other exposed E-61 machines, it is not for families with young children

In my opinion, head-and-shoulders above the others if you only make espresso.

In deciding what to buy, I considered four basic choices:

Great thermal stability from the e-61 group head. Solid construction. Huge drip tray. Easily adjustable brew tempurature

Dispensing hot water is clumsy. Group head gasket difficult to remove

beautiful, well made and a dream to own.

Even though i have only owned this machine for two weeks so far i have been very impressed with its performance. It produces great coffee, has excellent temperature stability despite its small size and can produce alot of coffee without any troubles. ...

Easy to use, amazing coffee and it gives the user total control! This has to be one of the best single boiler machines on the market. I love the retro styling, but that is a matter of preference

quite heavy, but again this reflect a its excellent build quality. Design is very stylish but hard to keep clean

Straight espresso performance sets the bar for prosumer machines -- don't write it off as an "espresso purist's" choice!

The performance for straight espresso sets the bar for prosumer machines ; Classic appearance, gorgeous E61 group and lever ; Heavy-duty quality materials and construction ; The steaming within its range is outstanding ; Large driptray

Boiler recovery time between steam and brew temperatures limits this machine to 1-2 cappuccinos ; Combination of small reservoir and large boiler flushes to force heating element cycle will demand frequent refills ; Upper portion of E61 group gets very...

Excellent value for the bucks, top notch commercial-home quality.

Be prepared to laugh at the manual, but read it for sure! The best way to use the Zaff' (and the other Iosmacs I've read about) is to let is heat up for at least 20 to 30 minutes before pulling real quality shots from it. I think this may be typical...

Definitely worth the bucks, right out of the box (pulled 2 "prelim" shots) made the best shots I've had in a long time (especially at home!!). Plenty of H2O is needed to prime and get going, but once underway it hums like an Italian dream. Superbly...

Whoever translated the instructions was not from UK/USA, you're in for a good snicker on some of the lines. I was looking for a machine that wasn't so "machine" looking (I really love Elektra's machines, the a leva is one of my favorites owned by a...

Outstanding performance right out of the box for straight espresso

I had this machine on loan from Dave at espressodeals.com to evaluate its overall capability, in particular in comparision to my modified Silvia.

Outstanding machine. Attractive and an excellent performer on straight espresso ; Straight out of the box equalled the performance of a highly modified Silvia . This is a superb machine

The manual is somewhat laughable in translation, but usable. The temp was fairly on (199F), but there is a bit of a deadband (see CG review), so it helps to surf the machine to element shutoff (top of band)
