ZTE Quartz review

The ZTE Quartz may be cheap, but it sacrifices a lot to get there.

Minimalist design ; Option for cellular connectivity ; GPS functionality at a low-price ; More than a day of battery life

No NFC ; No heart rate sensor ; Rubbish band

The Quartz is the cheapest Android Wear 2.0 watch to date. If you’re interested in smartwatches, but thought they were expensive, the Quartz might be the watch for you — especially if you’re not a fitness buff, or think paying with your watch isn’t...

ZTE Quartz review

Function before form

Excellent value ; All day battery life ; Android Wear 2.0 is a big improvement ; No bloatware

Huge, generic design ; Dim display ; No NFC ; Gets hot during calls

The ZTE Quartz is an excellent value when you look at it on paper. It has a snappy processor, the latest Android Wear 2.0 software and 3G. However, its large size and generic design hold it back from being a good watch to wear. The ZTE Quartz is a...

ZTE Quartz

The Quartz marks ZTE's first foray into smartwatches, and while it gets the price right for Android Wear, it still has some kinks to work out.

Reasonable price. Swappable bands. Built-in cellular modem and GPS.

No heart rate monitoring. Clunky, heavy build. Short battery life. Fitness metrics slightly off in testing.

With a lower price, you do have to make some compromises, but most of them aren't too major. Android Pay isn't used widely enough to make the lack of NFC a deal breaker, and giving up heart rate monitoring is only irksome if you're a fitness buff. And...

ZTE Quartz smartwatch review: An inexpensive Android Wear watch with one glaring issue

Finding a feature-loaded Android Wear smartwatch under $200 is getting more difficult with each new product release.

Inexpensive ; Bright display

Battery life with cellular data enabled is lacking ; No heart-rate sensor ; Android Pay users need not apply

ZTE Quartz watch review: The best value in Android Wear watches

The ZTE Quartz is a big and somewhat pedestrian entry into the Android Wear 2.0 fray, but you won't find a better 3G watch for the money.

At $192, you won't find a cheaper Android Wear watch with cellular connectivity. ; Big battery makes sure it powers through a full day. ; Surprisingly loud, clear speaker.

No heart-rate sensor or NFC. ; Design is rather bland and way too big.

The ZTE Quartz will still be too big for most wrists, but its price makes it much more attractive.

ZTE Quartz Review: A Cheap Smartwatch, With Some Caveats

The ZTE Quartz is a relatively affordable smartwatch option, running on the new and improved Android Wear 2.0. A built-in SIM lets you make calls and send texts without forcing you to tether the watch to your phone. But that connectivity is limited to...

Powerful speaker ; Sensitive microphone ; Competitively priced with other smartwatches ; You can make calls and texts without a phone

Huge case ; No crown navigation ; Limited to 3G connectivity on T-Mobile's network ; No NFC ; No heart rate sensor

The ZTE Quartz is a sub-$200 Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch that has a T-Mobile SIM, but this device isn't the bargain it seems.

ZTE Quartz Review

The excitement surrounding smart watches has drastically died off, with many companies throwing in the towel altogether on their wearables. Yet, ZTE has finally come out with their first smartwatch – the Android Wear 2.0 powered ZTE Quartz. The company...
