Helio Ocean

The Helio Ocean is a stylish, feature-packed phone. Its innovative dual-slider design allows for both a standard phone keypad and a full keyboard. Though it lacks Wi-Fi, it offers fast EvDO data access, Bluetooth, built-in GPS, and a great do-it-all...

Innovative dual-slider design Excellent messaging software

Sometimes lackluster call quality Small selection of non-game apps

Overall, the Ocean is a solid contender as a modern do-it-all phone. The occasionally lackluster call quality is a disappointment, but not a deal-killer, especially if you intend to use your phone for Web and e-mail communications as much as for voice....

Innovative dual-slider design ; Excellent messaging software

Sometimes lackluster call quality ; Small selection of non-game apps

With an innovative design and great features, the Ocean would be a favorite if it had better call quality.

Excuse us while we duck out the back door. Hired goons are trying to repo our Helio Ocean loaner, and we'd rather deal with shattered kneecaps than give it up.

Out-of-the-box text messaging via AIM, Yahoo!, and MSN. Out-of-the-box e-mail via AOL, Gmail, Windows Live, Yahoo!, and POP/IMAP accounts. Google Maps-powered GPS simple to use, gets you out of tight spots. Hot looks good way to start conversations...

It’s a heavy, bulky brick. No dedicated number keys on the thumb ‘board. No integrated Wi-Fi to augment Sprint's spotty network coverage. Screen virtually unreadable outdoors

Helio Ocean (Pantech PN-810)

The Ocean, Sidekick, and iPhone take a middle path. Helio has covered the Ocean with to features yet to be born hidden away in the menu and promises a steady stream of upgrades and changes—entirely under Helio's control. Third-party apps, meanwhile,...

Dual-slider design for phone and QWERTY keypads. Flexible messaging software. Very good screen and camera

Many features aren't quite here yet, but Helio promises they're coming. Quiet speakerphone

While the T-Mobile Sidekick stood still, Helio moved forward. The wireless service provider's new Ocean handset fits neatly between the juvenile Sidekick and the buttoned-down BlackBerry as an all-around multimedia handheld.

Helio Ocean Review - Sliding QWERTY - Pantech - Manufacturer - Reviews - WirelessInfo.com - Cell Phone Reviews and Wireless Plan Ratings

Helio's latest phone is a sexy device; the Ocean is the first dual slider, with both a QWERTY keyboard and a keypad, theoretically giving you the best of both worlds. And it gets pretty darn close; the phone looks great, works well and has plenty of...

The Ocean is an impressive device; the hardware is well designed and nicely built. It's an impressive piece of engineering to squeeze two sliders into a device less than an inch thick, and the Ocean certainly impresses in most respects. The keyboard is...
