Casio G’zOne Commando 4G LTE Review

Casio has been making various rugged phones for Verizon Wireless for nearly 7 years now, with the last version coming in 2011 in the form of the Casio G'zOne Commando – an Android powered smartphone. But that has been 2 years ago, and in the...

Rugged and can withstand almost anything ; Unique G’zGear and G’zWorld apps ; Front stereo speakers

Display quality and resolution is lacking ; Mediocre camera and video recording ; Still runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich

If you are looking for a rugged and outdoor durable Android smartphone for Verizon Wireless, your best and only choice is the Casio G’zOne Commando 4G LTE, as it meets MIL 810G certification for being able to withstand the elements, and it comes with...

Casio G’zOne Commando 4G LTE (Verizon Wireless)

The Casio G'zOne Commando 4G LTE is a super-tough smartphone for Verizon Wireless spelunkers, but of less interest for everyone else.

You get 10.42GB of free internal storage on the Commando. There’s also the aforementioned microSD slot buried all the way underneath the battery, which is locked down like Fort Knox. My 32GB and 64GB cards worked fine it.

Pre-installed Casio keyboard is not that great; thicker display means it is sometimes unresponsive to soft touch

Before I tested the Casio Commando, I thought it would be just another rugged phone and assumed that performance would be sub-par. I was pleasantly surprised. Overall performance and speeds were adequate, web browsing and data speeds were impressive,...

Casio G'zOne Commando initial review

I kind of want to throw the Casio G'zOne Commando. Or at least just drop it. Maybe kick it down the street a little. Can't decide if that's because it's rugged to the point where it's trying to pick ...

Oh, and we just found one more reason we want to go a couple rounds in a ring with the G'zOne Commando -- It's all Bing'd up. So, yeah. There's that. Full review is forthcoming. For now, find more pics after the break.
