Have you ever felt confused when buying a new product?
alaTest wants to make sure that never happens again. We analyze thousands of review sources from all over the world, and provide comparisons of the strengths and weaknesses of most consumer products on the market. By helping consumers choose the best products in the field we hope to push the quality of all tech products upwards.
We do this by working with the following techniques: statistical analysis of review data, statistical matching between products and reviews, natural language processing, data mining and opinion mining. All built on a scalable infrastructure using open source software and modern web technologies like Tornado, Solr and REST.
Our website is currently available in 20 countries and 14 languages. In addition to the websites we have established business partnerships with a number of leading websites such as PriceRunner, Kelkoo, SonyEricsson, Philips, SIBA and many others.
We are now looking for software developers to our Stockholm based teams
Our Dataflow Team works with providing the right information, in the right format, at the right time. A problem that is a bit trickier than you might think, as it requires knowledge and from a number of different fields, ETL, data warehousing and API building to support a webscale load pattern. If you are a software engineer with a passion for beautiful code, rebuilding legacy systems in order to scale out or developing for linux you will fit right in. We develop in Java and Python.
The focus of the Data Analysis Team is analysis, data mining, grouping and summarizing of review data. We analyse product catalogs and reviews in 15+ languages from a large number of sources, and our main job is to connect the right review to the right products. This is a highly challenging task, and as a member of our team you get to apply all your skills from statistics, data mining, natural language processing and of course software engineering. We also work with Natural Language Processing in combination with Business Intelligence and Data Visualization to create new ways of looking at our vast database of review and product information. We build full stack solutions, from Opinion mining and Sentiment analysis all the way to RESTstyle APIs for accessing the data, generative grammars for producing natural language summaries and visually rich HTML5 presentations.
All teams use agile techniques like Kanban in order to make sure that the products we develop reach the market as fast as possible, and test driven development to make sure we can stay agile.
